The French students started the "first chapter" : Today's consumer society / Different ways to circumvent it. They quite well understood and analysed different spoof ads found on the Internet.
What is a spoof ad ? Here is the definition the students managed to give :
"A spoof ad is an ad which is fake. It is a parody of a real ad. The original product is highly appreciated by customers and it is then altered so as to denounce something else. The product in the real ad and the product or the idea criticized should have something in common, like the fact that they attract a lot of customers. In that case, the message conveyed is definitely much more interesting than when one product only is criticized."
Then, they imagined their own parody ads through which they criticized addictive behaviours or denounced different “problems” their generation is too often confronted with.

We just watched your spoof ads and we had no idea what spoof ads were, and now we know! Your ads were very interesting and well made, we also understood the humor in them. It takes a lot to present your own ideas to people you have never met.
ReplyDeleteWe particularly liked the ad number 16. It was very clear and we liked the idea of the spoof ad. The ad was so true. We liked it very much!
Best wishes Linda and Anniina
