Welcome to our blog

This is an eTwinning blog between Porin Lyseon lukio in Pori, Finland and Lycée Hélène Boucher in Thionville, France.
The name of the project Us in 2026 implies that we are looking at changes in our society and projecting our thoughts to the time when the students are in their 30s.

ICT in our lives – free time and school

Introduction to the page and instructions for writing

ICT (Information and Communications Technology), like IT is called today, to emphasise the communication aspect of using the internet today, has become an integral part of our lives.

It has been claimed that the internet and all the resources it offers are more important to young people than their parents. Is this true?

Another claim is that  'screenagers' use the net just do so something trivial  to spend time and thus shun work.
Is there any truth in this?

The ubiquitousness of mobile devices has made it crucial to understand what we do with the internet.
Downloading apps and files adds another dimension to using ICT.  Even without internet access we always have digital storage with us.

This page has 2 parts. In the first part, free contributions are invited on your internet use. In the latter part, you are asked to compile a list - together- of the pages and services you use.

My internet use

Test student:
The internet for me is very much a place where I look up information. Whenever I want to check a fact, I google it.
I do not use Facebook. I think it is a waste of time. People write silly comments to other people's silly wall updates.
I listen to music on my phone when I ride my bike. I need music to make feel alive, and listening on the go is wonderful!
